Loyalty Rewards Scheme commencing from the 1st January 2018
The Loyalty Rewards scheme provides that clients will earn a loyalty reward based upon the criteria shown below. The information shows how each client’s reward points will be accumulated.
The Start Point- Qualifying period
- The start points for earning reward points is after the company has awarded a gilet.
- A gilet is normally presented after several holidays with the company, but at all times at the discretion of Secret Hills Walking
Award of a company gilet
We recognise that there is a difference in value to the Secret Hills Walking business- between the different types of holidays we run - this is shown in the different points awarded against different legnths of holidays.
For this scheme- and to be awarded a company gilet - you must accumulate 800 reward points
An Example 1 - 2 - European seven nights holidays - 350 x 2 = 700 points , plus one weekend break - 200 points take you over the 800 points threshold for award of the company gilet
Example 2 - 2 weekend holidays = 400 points plus 2 four night holidays= 500 points - making 900 points.,taking you over the 800 points threshold for award of a company gilet.
The Scheme and how it works
After the award of a gilet, the client will start to accumulate rewards as shown below, these points can be redeemed against future holidays either European or UK holidays in the ways we describe below. These points will be known as reward points.

Seven Nights European Holiday
How to claim reward points
A record of accumulated points will be kept – but it is the job of clients to claim reward points at any time, against holidays that have been booked, or prior to booking new holidays.
Please address email enquiries regarding points balance to email@example.com. Secret Hills Walking will not suggest redeeming the reward points; all the prompting must come from the client. Once reward points have been redeemed, those points will be deducted from the total accumulated by the client.
An example is here:
A client has accumulated 1000 points. On the chosen holiday – let’s say the holiday is worth £400 – the client asks that they redeem all the points that they have accumulated, then Secret Hills Walking will adjust their final balance accordingly.
In this case £100 will be the adjustment.
Methods of redeeming Loyalty Reward Points
There are various ways to redeem your loyalty reward points. Some options may only be used on European holidays, these are highlighted under European.
- The allocation of the reward can be redeemed from the price of a holiday the client has chosen.
This works on the following basis; the client tells Secret Hills Walking that they wish to redeem points to a certain value. Secret Hills will adjust the price of the holiday by that value and reflect that in the purchase price of the holiday, leaving a residual value that the client will now pay for the chosen holiday.
EUROPEAN HOLIDAYS ONLY
The client may take advantage of additional benefits available on Secret Hills European Walking holidays such as:
- Increase in room standard - i.e. to a sea-view room or a twin room for sole occupancy.
- Reduction or removal of a European single supplement
But the method of converting loyalty points is slightly different from UK holidays. On our European holidays, loyalty points have a cash value – so clients redeeming points against a European holiday, will get the cash value of those points – by cheque or bank transfer from us,( instead of having the overall holiday price reduced). Once points have been redeemed, they are subtracted from a client’s total of loyalty points.
How much time has the client got to redeem their Reward points?
- Reward points can only be redeemed by purchasing further holidays – they have no cash value other than when a holiday is booked and paid for.
- Secret Hills Walking will pay no cash value to any client in final settlement as this scheme is meant to reward loyalty by booking additional holidays.
- Reward points can be redeemed at any time – there is no time limit set as to when they can be claimed.
- Reward points can be claimed in as many portions or as a whole as the client wishes.
- Rewards points are not transferable to any other client and can only be redeemed by the owner of them.
Information regarding European Holidays and Loyalty
European Holidays are managed by Secret Hills Walking but under the ATOL bonding scheme operated by New Experience Holidays. When a client books a holiday through New Experience Holidays, and pays monies to that company, they can claim 300 reward points. Secret Hills Walking will add these reward points earned on each European holiday to the client's rewards list. When booking through New Experience we (Secret Hills) will pay your points value to you direct by bank transfer or cheque. New Experience does not hold information regarding our loyalty reward system, so we allow this to minimize financial transactions. This only applies to European Holidays and not UK. Holidays.
Husband/Wife/Partners – How the Rewards scheme operates
For the purposes of this scheme – if a couple reserves a holiday together, then the reward points will be earned by each partner, and recorded separately
No reward points are allocated to any Nepal holidays.
Changes to this Rewards scheme
Secret Hills Walking Holidays reserve the right to change the basis of the rewards scheme at any time to reflect the effective running of the scheme, or to reflect improvements that may be made to the scheme over time. Secret Hills Walking Holidays reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions and spirit of the scheme at any time and without prior notice. Notification of amendments will be published on the main websites of the business.
The Spirit of the Loyalty Rewards Scheme
In designing this scheme, Secret Hills Walking have taken into consideration many issues. The key to our offering this scheme is a genuine desire, on behalf of the company, to reward those who are loyal to our business ideals and who are regular customers - that is the motivating logic behind the scheme. However, the key spirit of the scheme is REWARD FOR LOYALTY - the over-arching criteria of a decision in any review procedure.
